Your 5900X achieved 4.95GHz during games at normal settings, though it wasn’t perfectly steady. After applying Curve Optimizer, I consistently reach 4.9 or 4.95GHz in non-CPU-heavy titles. I haven’t used PBO to raise clock speed directly—just Curve Optimizer and some power adjustments. To you: how much CPU usage are you experiencing in these games? If many cores are active, the maximum boost won’t appear at stock levels. This usually happens in lightly threaded scenarios using just a few cores.
Sorry for the delayed response! Your system is running around 4.5GHz on BF5, which matches your reported core clock limits. For League of Legends, you're getting up to 4.7—great performance! It does seem inconsistent, though.
Did you really do that? I’m sorry, I must have posted late at night and missed the next day. It was really stressful during that moment.
You're likely to achieve around 4.5GHz on your 3080Ti with BF5. The game demands a lot of CPU power, which can limit boost performance. If the video you saw is correct, you might hit about 4.6GHz on a 3070, which is estimated at 99%. With a stronger GPU, CPU usage will rise, leading to lower clock speeds. For League of Legends, this could simply mean the CPU isn't being pushed hard enough to trigger full boost. LoL is generally easy on hardware, so you probably won't notice any stutter or frame issues.
Tysm! Great to hear that everything’s working fine now!! I experienced lag and stuttering with BF2042, only I felt it every moment. My friend didn’t have any issues at all. Another thing I’m dealing with is overheating my CPU. I see a max temp of 71°C in League of Legends, especially when using Galahad 360mm and the iCUE H150i ELITE CAPELLIX CPU 360mm Cooler with Lian Li O11 XL. I’ve tried both coolers. Also, Cinebench R23 Multi reached a max of 73—thanks for your help! Even though this post is a bit old.
My 5900X operates smoothly in the 5GHz+ band. With a 200 USD motherboard, performance drops significantly. Make sure you understand PPT, TDC, and EDC settings. Custom tuning will get you further than default motherboard restrictions. A curve optimizer works best when paired with manual limits. Proper configuration can push speeds up to 5150MHz. Try controlling 200, 140, and 180 MHz with a -30 all-core clock.
