I performed a fresh driver update for Windows and other systems, but it still spikes excessively in the task manager.

The remaining components of your setup include a processor, memory, storage, and networking hardware. Let me know if you need details on any specific part!

It seems like you're concerned about something suspicious. Could you provide more details? I'm here to help clarify or investigate further.

It's a fresh GPU and the Windows scanner detected nothing.

I completely cleaned the previous driver using DDU and set up the new one for my 4070. Everyone said this CPU is more than enough right now and I’m not facing any performance issues at the moment.

Using DDU isn't intended for cleaning hard drives! It's better to remove all partitions during the Windows setup process.

OP is talking about using DDU for GPU drivers, not storage devices. Install and execute a scan with Malwarebytes; Windows Defender might miss some crypto miner viruses and overlook many threats.
