Single or multi-threaded programs are applications that can run one thread at a time or use several threads simultaneously to perform tasks efficiently.
It simply indicates that applications leverage varying numbers of processing units. Games usually don’t require many cores since they were built for systems with just four cores. Tasks like video editing, animation, and transcoding gain advantages from more cores. Streaming offers benefits up to a certain point, but if the system has sufficient power to handle it, additional cores or speed improvements aren’t necessary.
