You should choose 64-bit for better performance with Windows 10 preview, especially if your system has limited RAM.

Choose not only based on processor speed but also memory availability. Insufficient RAM can cause severe performance issues even with a 64-bit operating system.

I would choose 32, that's what I'm aiming for. I'm facing some problems with my WM. A 32-bit setup is the most reliable choice, as @ AnnoyedShelf mentioned. Running on 64-bit might not be ideal with limited RAM. Just stick with 32; you won't need the extra features if you're just testing a tech preview.

I've rarely come across 64-bit machines with just 2 GB of memory... But you're correct, right?

Got it through trial and error. Put 64-bit Ubuntu on my dad’s old laptop. Performance was terrible. Quickly moved to 32-bit version.
