Since you're based in Europe, you're probably in a similar situation as we are in the UK, which suggests stocks are beginning to flow back in—hopefully not too soon.
I managed to order my 5800x this morning. After AMD removed the 6900, they also restocked the 5xxx, 6800 and XT models. I prioritized getting the CPU; otherwise I might have gotten the 6800XT at the same time. The site was slow to load and hesitated to test my chances. Stay alert on their page and be patient—it'll happen! You should have found it, especially with the German version. Once they restock, the "AMD.COM - OUT OF STOCK" link will direct you to their store. I got the 5800 about 15 to 20 minutes after they updated, which is encouraging. https://www.amd.com/en/where-to-buy/ryze...processors
The CPUs are available everywhere, yet the costs are unrealistically steep. I’m not willing to pay a premium for something I can find at a lower price. The balance between performance and price isn’t as important right now. I just don’t want to force more money onto AMD’s shoulders for something they didn’t deserve.
It seems unusual. Is there a connection to value-added tax? You mentioned the MSRP of $550, and the 5900s were also priced at that level earlier today. It looks like Intel might be trying to keep costs down.
The amount is $550 before tax. Your payment of £515 includes 20% VAT, which matches the calculated $552 when converted.
