Zotac gtx 1070 amp extreme core edition overclocking
Hi there, Forum members.
My English isn't great, and I'm completely new to overclocking. I just did a quick one-click overclock on a Gigabyte GTX 1050ti. Now I'm planning to upgrade to a Zotac GTX 1070 Amp Extreme Core Edition, which is a bit unfamiliar to me. My first question is whether I should use the Firestorme 2.12 or the FireStorm_V2.0.0.022E that Zotac suggests for my card. I've tried the 2.12 and it worked well, but now I need to downgrade as recommended. What software should I use to test the overclock? Should I adjust the clock in the same percentage as the memory clock? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
The default settings are:
GPU clock 1607
Memory clock 2002
Board Power Limit 100%
Temperature target 83%
Could you help me get started as a beginner?
Thanks to everyone.
I would personally use msi afterburner, it works for all cards.
Start by adjusting the slide power target fully to the right.
Next, modify your core clock in increments, not just memory clock.
I rely on Furmark to check the stability of my overclock and it will show you the limits of power, voltage, and temperature. I’ll share a picture below of my setup. I’m using a GTX 1060, so it’s quite similar to yours. Hope this helps. Also keep an eye on the temperatures while doing this.
I'm having trouble running the superposition benchmark; it loops endlessly and doesn't display any results. Anyone else facing the same issue?
✅ Yes, I did. It begins with a 16 or close to it, scenes, and then, at the end of counting, it just starts over, without counting, endless...
I'm working with Zotac native software but I'd appreciate your advice. My concerns now are about GPU maximum voltage and power usage. Some people recommend running it at full settings, while others suggest it's better not to. This is during a long session playing Fortnite. The temperatures are low thanks to the fan's advanced mode setting that keeps the temperature at 10% higher than normal. Any suggestions?
I'm not very experienced with Zotac OC software. It might be helpful to run FurMark and check for any throttling issues, looking at parameters like Voltage and Temperature, and then proceed accordingly. What are the maximum temperatures on your GPU?
Well for now it remains stable around 50º while working with the fans at 50% as well. I experimented with the MSI afterburner, but testing with superposition yields better results compared to using the MSI afterburner, even when loading the same clocks. Now I attempt to run forniite with a higher GPU clock of around 10 points, increasing the GPU clock to 70 and memory clock to 280, which improves performance by about 30% without affecting the temperature. Previously, superposition gave me a 9922 score in 1080p High resolution. Now, with these adjustments, I haven't tested it yet. The maximum temperature during play or with superposition varies depending on whether you use MSI Afterburner or Firestorm; Firestorm with advanced fan settings keeps the temperature consistently below 50º, while MSI in auto mode can push it up to 60º or 65º.
