Zotac 960 running really hot
Zotac 960 running really hot
I have a system with a Zotac GTX 960 4GB (not the AMP! edition) however when under load not overclocked at all it will reach 82 degrees. This seems very high, and it has plenty of space within my case as well as a filtered opening for fresh air directly below the fans. Removing the filter did not affect temperatures. I have seen online that it can be pushed to around 1300mhz with no problem but mine throttles back to around 1177 after a few seconds of load.
Is there anything I can do about this or is it just something wrong with the card? I'd rather not replace the thermal paste, but could this just be bad contact between the card and heatsink and poor quality control from Zotac?
I would send it back to the seller if it remains under RMA. My GTX 960 4 GB from MSI never exceeds 65°C.
Which Zotac GTX 960 model are you referring to?
