Zotac 4080 causes unusual fan performance issues.
Same problem again, possibly due to a recent GPU driver update. It functioned well before the last 1-2 patches.
Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D settings > Power Management Mode > Switch from "High Performance" to "Normal" > Restart device. Clock speeds now decrease from 2565MHz to 420MHz instead of staying constant, also lowering the minimum fan speed and shutting fans off.
It seems linked to memory clock management. The BIOS checks this and decides whether to enable the fan. If you have high power mode active, don’t lower the clock speed—keep it stable. With custom overclocks, if GPU-Z shows consistent idle readings, it likely points to a BIOS issue. Since the BIOS is permanently flashed and originally worked as expected, this probably explains the behavior. Adjust default settings, clear MSI after burning, and remove startup programs like Zotac FireStorm or similar apps. That should help. If not, there’s another problem.
