I've updated Win10 to the latest version, used only MS antivirus, ran Malwarebytes for verification, and checked the hash of new software through VirusTotal.
What I did:
I installed Zoom desktop.
What I anticipated:
Sign in with a signup account and use Zoom.
What actually occurred:
Zoom frequently crashes, sometimes without response to clicks or signs—like no access to invites or missing invite entries in the app history. Repeated logins led to the same issue, often a loop. I tried restarting but it continued to fail. Now at uninstall stage, I need to reinstall via Win10 recovery to restore logs and access records. Woops.
Any suggestions or do we require the logs first?

Actual Windows 10 version details.
Source information for Zoom download? Consider trying another download and reinstalling, just in case the Zoom desktop you set up had issues or was damaged.
Check Microsoft's Reliability History and Event Viewer for any recorded error codes or warnings that align with the times Zoom would crash.

Ah true, sorry, win10 version:
10.0.19043 Build 19043
Download source:
https://zoom.us
Download hash checked: via
https://virustotal.com
Logs: Nothing in Reliability History, and only one termination event in Event Viewer. However it did also show crashes via Adobe PDF Reader trying to connect with Zoom. Yes, there are open source PDF readers, still use them, I only have the Adobe version because it's the only one I've found which can give actual, accurate creation dates for PDF files (under properties ..explorer only gives date of download).
But will uninstall Adobe for the moment and see if I can recreate the error or not - hopefully fix it !
PC: keyboard buggy. Shifting down the 'shift' key turns it into an auto-paste maniac, among other pecularities. Have run dozens of Defender, Malwarebytes, Hitmanpro without result apart from one tracking cookie, but this reminds me I should also do a malware test via Linux USB. New RAM and SSD from Crucial, which also reminds me need to do a overnight memtest!
Edit:
will also reinstall Zoom again, now that Adobe is gone. Then run sfc / dism for the hell of it.

Good plan.
Updates will be shared (or not).
Additional feedback may appear. No concerns here.

Still no logs appear.
If logs were saved with the app, they’re either missing or not accessible. I’ve found significant issues with my network, including latency reaching 45,000 ms (45k ms), which could have contributed to crashes.
However, the main concern is the CPU usage spiking to 100% when the Zoom desktop opens. I’ve submitted feedback about this with Zoom here:
Zoom app 100% CPU - Zoom Community
From my research, it seems many users have reported similar 100% CPU problems. Check the linked article and stay tuned—I’ll update soon! I have an email alert set, so please let me know if you’re slow updating.
