Zoom 9 requires a 10-minute pause before it can be restarted?
Hi All
Is this the only issue I'm facing? After the latest update, Zoom has changed its behavior—meetings end after 40 minutes and then require a mandatory 10-minute wait before resuming. This is really frustrating for me and my wife, as we both need dedicated teaching software and can't afford multiple Zoom licenses annually. We're considering switching to Teams, despite the blurry camera quality. It seems I haven't seen any mention of this new feature anywhere—something odd.
EDIT: I also sent a polite complaint to Zoom yesterday, explaining our situation and noting our budget constraints. They replied:
"Thank you for your recent inquiry. I understand your needs and would be happy to assist with purchasing or connecting you to the best option at Zoom.
Could you share more about your organisation, your goals with our platform, and how many staff members will use Zoom?
Best regards,"
The unclear camera problem you're experiencing with Teams is likely related to image quality or clarity.
Hi COLGeek, thank you for your reply. When I open my image in Teams before joining or starting a meeting, it appears in HD quality, but once I join the meeting, the resolution drops significantly and the video becomes blurry or out of focus. I've adjusted every possible setting, but it still doesn't work. Many people are reporting similar issues, yet no clear fix has been released. Some think it's just a small detail, but I see it as part of the product experience, which highlights the importance of quality. I'm currently testing the free RingCentral version, hoping it might offer a solution (any other ideas are welcome!).
I've only observed video quality drops during network-related problems, not specifically with Teams.
Hi
Hi, did you manage to find a solution?
I’m facing the same issue—using Zoom for 1-on-1 teaching but only two hours a week. It’s clearly not working well for me. I also have to wait ten minutes after the meeting ends, even though the limit is only forty minutes. It just appears without any notice from Zoom, which is really frustrating when I’m in the middle of a lesson.
If they want to charge, I think they should offer a more affordable, tiered plan for smaller users like us.
If you have any ideas on how to work around this, please let me know! Thank you!
This thread is six-months old (look at the dates on each post).
Since it is obviously "dead" there is no point in you posting on it.
