Someone is wondering why zone alarm popups disappear completely on your Windows 8.1 laptop, especially since it started showing this right away. You mentioned reinstalling Windows 8.1 from an OEM disk after swapping the HDD for an SSD and adding a larger M.2 SSD. The issue persists even with Intel graphics and a GFX 730M chip.

Choose just one option. Believe it or not, Windows Firewall works fine. Zone Alarm is a nuisance.

Windows Firewall and Defender are sufficient after updates. Remove them, install the latest version, run a scan, and you should be fine.

I appreciate the option to block unknown applications. I’ve removed bloatware that was installed accidentally and enjoy having more control over what launches on my device.

Visit the site at https://www.malwarebytes.org/, download the tool, and perform a scan. It should work without issues.

Zonealarm works well. It blocks many background activities. I’m not going into details, but it’s made a big difference for me—my ISP stops sending messages, and my coworkers still receive them.
