Zero RPM operation with no RGB display on Lian Li SL-INF fans
Zero RPM operation with no RGB display on Lian Li SL-INF fans
First things first - I have a hardline watercooled PC. I'm currently typing this from this PC with no fans running on my radiators, only cooling is the pump rotating the water - as such, you can see how important this is for me to get resolved. Here are the facts: - Fans don't spin - RGB doesn't show - Software does detect the connected hub Here's what I've tried: - Updating L-Connect3 - Updating the hub that came with my first pack of 3 fans - Trying the 2nd hub that came with my second set of 3 fans - updating that too - Uninstalling and reinstalling the software - Using the other set of cables from the other set of fans - Using different FAN ports on my motherboard - Directly connecting to the USB header on my motherboard instead of the hub I have in the pack of my rig (which is confirmed working with other products) - Asking the software to use the RPM from the motherboard - Asking the software to use the motherboard for RGB I know the ports work on my motherboard, previous fans and RGB devices were using them fine with no issues and when I plug those back in they work again immediately. I need this sorted ASAP. My PC is barely usable without fans. Motherboard is an x570 ASUS Strix Gaming-E - other specs if relevant, Windows 11, Ryzen 5800X3D, RTX 3080, 64gb Gskill 3600Mhz RAM, RM850 PSU I have no idea what else I can try. I can't connect the fans directly to the motherboard because the 3 pack doesn't have any direct connectors for the motherboard. Motherboard BIOS doesn't detect the fans when connected through the hub (by design???), so I can't control them via that either. The fact that the hub doesn't default to fans spinning is outrageous by the way. If anyone has any ideas, please, please, please let me know.
The fan bearing seems to be broken. It's best to replace them instead of spending time on this.
Are you using the L-Connect program? If so, it might mean you're in a semi-passive state where fans remain still when CPU is below 50°. Updated January 19, 2025 by leclod
I saved it to configure the fans since it seems necessary with the hub that comes with them. I also verified that taking out all other parts of the SATA power cable from the PSU, leaving just the hub, still doesn’t resolve the problem. It’s really puzzling about what’s going on.
