I've been pushing my 5600X to discover its limits. If you need a comparison, my full details are listed here. Unfortunately, I can't reach a consistent 4.8Ghz all-core speed even at 1.5V. (I wouldn't keep it at that voltage nonstop, but just wanted to test if the CPU could sustain 4.8GHz.) I experience random shutdowns under heavy load and temperatures are nearing 90°C. I currently run at 4.7Ghz all-core stable with a 1.3125V Vcore. Load temperatures sit around 70°C. No crashes in a six-hour Cinebench R20 session, and no issues in any of my games so far. I've also achieved a stable 3600MHz Crucial BallistiX memory at 1.45V DRAM. All passed memtest86 without errors. Cinebench R20 multicore score: 4350. At 4.7GHz all-core, it's 4630. I'm still unsure how my memory adjustment affects performance, but it seems Cinebench R20 is relatively forgiving. If anyone has overclocked their Zen3 CPUs, let me know your results!

It might be possible to boost memory frequency and FCLK. Keep this in mind: Ryzen processors can stretch their clocks, so pushing them too far can actually lower benchmark results compared to a slightly lower setting, even without crashes.

It seems the issue occurs around 3600MHz and you're unsure if it's linked to the higher FCLK when boosting memory speed or if it's a memory instability problem. You mentioned not being able to adjust FCLK speed in BIOS and saw similar behavior with your B450 Tomahawk but not on your B550 Aorus Pro. The fact that lowering voltage increased clock speeds but reduced performance suggests the problem might be related to power supply stability rather than just the memory itself.

MSI issued a beta BIOS update to resolve problems with the Ryzen 5000. Users were limited to booting up to a specific threshold, but the fix allowed a stable 3600MHz CL34 support, up from the previous 3200MHz.

I'll monitor the Gigabyte site for any BIOS updates. Appreciate the suggestion! Even without increasing memory capacity, a 3600MHz CL34 chipset is quite solid.

Sure, I could aim for a 4000MHz CL18 and attempt to downclock it to CL16.

You might be able to secure two additional sticks for a 10% improvement in performance.
