Z77 extreme 6 wont overclock
Hello, I tried to increase the clock speed of my i5 3577k CPU in a motherboard Z77 Extreme6. I collected a lot of information from forums and YouTube, but it still doesn’t overclock. In the BIOS, the MHz is listed as around 4200, yet during stress tests my cores only reached up to 3399 MHz. The only time it worked was when using Intel Extreme Overclock Tool, which crashed afterward. I don’t want to rely on that method. Hope someone can assist me.
Which stress tests are being applied? Even if the system were unstable, clocks would exceed 3400MHz during a test if you pushed the frequency to 4200MHz.
The Intel utility appears to be adequately challenging the CPU, though stability remains an issue.
Which BIOS adjustments have been made? What voltage configuration are you employing?
Do you rely on the integrated OC tool or adjust clock speeds, voltages, and other parameters manually?
It's also a fairly old setup with a legacy motherboard. The parts might be malfunctioning. PSU or Mobo issues.
Using prime and hwmonitor.
