It seems to be a surge suppressor power strip. These devices have a limitation—they only handle surges for a limited time. Many use a component that wears down over time, eventually turning into regular extension cords. The exact specs vary, so checking the product details is important. If it’s an older model, it’s probably just an extension cord now. Wall warts can be purchased instead, allowing you to replace them periodically rather than moving plugs around. It doesn’t matter if the breaker was off; turning it back on might have helped, but it’s unlikely to cause further issues. A fresh power supply unit could be the fix. I wish I understood those code numbers better—they can depend heavily on the motherboard.

The zerosurge represents a significant expense, around 300 dollars per unit.

It could last forever. There are several options available. The most affordable choices often come with drawbacks. It might be worth looking into. I think you're okay.

I have the 12100 today, set it up, but the same issues persist. After replacing the PSU, RAM, and CPU, nothing changed—only the motherboard remains the same. It seems like moving forward, I should file a warranty claim with ASUS.

Yes. It doesn’t resemble a memory issue, which seems to be the only remaining thing.

I gave it another attempt. Observed a few odd behaviors. In three of the four RAM slots, it pauses at code 28 before restarting, while the second slot briefly displays 4C for a short time before resetting. Without any RAM, it fails to post and keeps restarting without end. It still shows various codes. I ordered another formula MB, expecting it by Monday. I'm trying to initiate the warranty process, but ASUS RMA is down and I'm on hold.

I completely removed the MB to locate the serial number. Then the ASUS representative asked me to check the hidden q code lights on this board, but I told him I’d play along. I reinstalled the motherboard and began connecting everything. As I progressed, the board became stuck on various codes, so I kept swapping parts. Eventually, it got stuck on D6; the OLED displayed a Cmos error. I repeatedly cleared the CMOS, removed the battery, and reached a 99 CMOS error. I continued deleting files until finally getting a display, entered BIOS, and loaded defaults. It booted into Windows. Probably the CMOS went haywire. I’m unsure why changing the motherboard helped or why repeatedly resetting the CMOS and removing the battery worked. Still, persistence seems to pay off. Now I expect many return orders on my Amazon account.

There was a manufacturing issue with the board that caused the CMOS to appear unclear until you resolved it.

I'm not sure. The person from Asus mentioned someone higher up would reach out soon. I think I could ask them when they call.
