Hello, have anyone tried running a XEON W-1390 on a Z590 chip instead of W580? It would fit a 1200 LGA socket. Someone mentioned it worked on Z490 with a special BIOS, but they’re almost the same. The link you shared looks helpful. What are your thoughts? Thanks in advance. P.S. I believe it’s the top CPU you can get or consider the 11900 instead.

There isn’t much available data about this. Unless stated otherwise, it looks like the board won’t work here. These differ from previous consumer Xeons, so it’s unlikely to be a good fit at the moment. How much are you expecting? Also, the 11900 is one of those lower-tier CPUs compared to the last generation—far from the top choice for most tasks.

Around 500 USD for a 1390 rating, but it's mainly about TDP. You have an ITX and only a 120mm radiator, so the max TDP should be under 100W with total power draw not exceeding 150W.

That's costly and doesn't justify the value. Opt for a 10700(k) and keep it at stock that cools down with a 120mm radiator. You'll lose a bit in performance, but the 200$ savings are significant and it will function properly. You can also choose a 11700(k), but it's not worth the extra cost—it only offers marginal improvement and results in a poorly implemented PCIe 4.0 for storage.

You recently acquired the Intel 11500 chip. You're curious about its compatibility with XEON on the Z590 processor... possibly not, but that's what you're wondering.

No one has attempted it yet because it remains pricier than standard consumer components. Essentially, people tend to look for alternatives when the platform reaches its end-of-life and cheap listings appear on eBay.
