Hey all. I just built a cool budget gaming PC so my 11 year old can play his FNAF and Bendy series games. I transferred an HP Z230 tower mother board to am old Zalman Z9Plus case I found for next to nothing. My problem is this: I'm getting a chassis fan error on post and also a USB 2 not connected error. I have to hit F1 on each boot and that's annoying. Is there a way to jump the pins on the mobo so that the system thinks a fan is present? Google was not my friend in this instance. I was able to jump the USB 3 Pins (front IO on the Zalman case has no support) so I think my USB 2 error must be related to an incorrect splice and short on my USB 2 IO cable. At any rate, any advice would be much appreciated.

Do you not have any fans in the machine? It sounds like it could be solved by adding fans haha. Otherwise you could find the cheapest fan, splitter, or extension and cut the connector off and leave it in the slot. Similarly to how you can trick a GPU into thinking it has a monitor on it with a dummy plug (view link). https://www.amazon.com/Headless-Display-...B06XT1Z9TF You should also be able to disable the fan monitoring from bios, above is an alternative method to try with no guarantees it will work.

Tyler, there are indeed supporters in the situation. They're connected to a separate controller instead of the main board. Regarding the BIOS, I attempted it but found the HP workstation models have limited and not very helpful options. The fan connector seems like a solid choice, which matches what I need to recreate it. I'm unsure about the specific cables to use for splicing and shorting.
