Z170 Non-K Overclocking
Z170 Non-K Overclocking
I have a asrock h170 pro4s and a intel i5 6600(non K) i have a person willing to buy my mobo and i can buy Asrock Z170 Pro4 for about 25$ dollars more. My question is is it worth it to buy the Z170 board and with older bioses does BLCK still work? And does windows creators update have any microcode that disables it ?

BIOS updates have removed the feature. I understand if you mean reverting to previous versions.
BIOS updates have removed this feature. I understand if rolling back to earlier versions would help, though there are occasional exceptions. Generally, you can't install a BIOS version that is older than the one your motherboard provides.

Todor_2 shared that BIOS updates removed this feature. I understand if you think about going back to older versions. There are some rare instances, but usually you can't install a BIOS version before the one your motherboard supports. Still, people manage it—like in April 2017 YouTube videos where they download BIOS files from overclocking.guide and flash them back.

They likely tweak the files to make the motherboard accept them.
If that’s happening, you risk damaging your board with any of these modifications.
