OP received double NAT due to his hotspot handling NAT and the carrier's involvement. He can access ports on his hotspot but remains behind one NAT layer. OP might inquire with AT&T about public IP options, though it could be costly. An alternative is using a VPN to a VPS that routes all incoming traffic through the VPN.

You were thinking about contacting AT&T to get their advice, and you're also exploring using a VPN through a VPSA. However, you haven't found clear guidance on what details you'd need to gather or how to proceed.

Instead of using Wi-Fi through the hotspot, connect directly via the Xbox—this avoids the double BAT problem altogether.

Since the Wi-Fi booster delivers faster downloads and uploads than the regular hotspot, it’s likely the primary network originates from that source.

Additionally, it lacks the double nat issue, and the strict nat type has already been tested.

I didn't realize there were more choices available on the hotspot. I'm not sure if those features would be helpful, but it seems like there might be alternatives. It also appears to support VPN tunneling.
