You've recently updated your system but are encountering issues with XMP.
I recently upgraded to a 13700k running on an MSI PRO Z690-A WIFI and purchased this RAM kit from TEAMGROUP. It’s the T-Create Expert Overclocking 10L DDR5 64GB module (2 x 32GB) at 6000MHz (PC5-48000) CL34 Intel XMP 3.0 & AMD Expo compatible. The product claims 6000 MHz CL34, but I wasn’t expecting that high. I was aiming for the 5600 MHz sweet spot mentioned in Linus’s DDR5 comparison video a year ago. However, when I apply the 5600 MHz XMP profile, the system crashes and requires a hard reset to return to BIOS. It’s stable at 4000 MHz. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
The 13th generation should comfortably reach 6000 MHz on a Cl34 board, making it even more likely to perform well. Is your BIOS the latest version?
The issue is clear. A 4x32GB configuration isn't suitable for high-speed performance. The maximum achievable is around 5200MT/s, but with your 128GB RAM, it will likely take days to thoroughly test that limit. If you require 128GB, consider lowering the speed to 4000MT/s. Alternatively, remove two DIMMs and try again—likely a better chance at 6000MT/s.
Are you really requiring 128GB of RAM? Any task demanding that amount needs it for stability, so be ready to take your system offline for 2-3 days during stress tests. Even if you manage to achieve it, it won’t be worth the time or effort—4x32GB is more practical. The ideal scenario is around 5200, but with some work, you’re likely closer to 4400-4800, or even lower at 4000MT/s. If you don’t need that much RAM, stick with 64GB instead of wasting resources.
