I recently purchased an RX6600 and faced some issues. It runs paired with an i5-8500, and it uses minimal power while Fortnite runs smoothly. In CS GO matches with bots, the same happens—only about 35W draw. I have a 16GB RAM Corsair Vengeance 2666MHz, Windows 10 Pro OS version 22H2, and a power supply from Corsair RM550X. The system feels fine for gaming and competitive titles, but I’m unsure how to resolve this. I don’t want to return it. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Do you experience problems mainly with reduced energy consumption, or are you facing difficulties during operation?

It only affects low power situations and minimal GPU usage, staying under 70% even when CPU reaches 90%. All steps were done via YouTube, and I’m limited to a +20 power cap on AMD Adrenalin. I can’t exceed 30W.

your complaining about low power usage? thats not a good thing unless you wanna heat your room lol. 1. Check if your games are using the rx6600 and not the intel gpu in your cpu. 2. Check if your drivers are up to date for amd. 3. Check if your drivers are up to date for intel. 4. You have unlimited frame cap on for fortnite, actually capping your frames will help you. cuz your trying to make your gpu and cpu go batshit load for a battle royal game and max out the fps. 37 percent is fine honestly for fortnite in 1080p low-mid settings, and i cant believe your only drawing 35w, what exactly is drawing that? because your cpu can do that alone by just being turned on, how are you measuring the tdp of the pc?

He might be experiencing a limitation in the metrics software he’s using. His footage indicates 95fps, but the onboard Intel GPU may not support that frame rate.

Are you concerned about the quality of the performance you're experiencing? Are there any stutters, tearing, or noticeable drops in frame rate? Requesting a comprehensive dataset from tools like HWMonitor to identify any obvious problems. Once we have that information, we can discuss optimization options or check for hardware issues.

Your processor utilization per core appears to be low, which might indicate it struggles with demanding CPU-intensive games.

GPU performance is limited due to playing at a moderate resolution (1080p) with a modest CPU (6 cores, no hyperthreading, 4-5 generations). This creates a bottleneck. Consider using InSpectre to turn off Spectre and Meltdown features, and try CPUBalance to better allocate cores. Also, turn off the Ultra Low Power State for the 6600 chip. Both should improve utilization slightly and reduce power consumption.

I’m not sure what you meant, sorry.
You have a number 8500.
Could you clarify what you need help with?

GPU usage indicates how much your graphics card is working, with 98-100% showing full utilization. 1080p resolution is a low setting. Current standards are 1440p (2560x1440), 4K (3820x2160) and higher resolutions like ultrawide or 5K. A low-end CPU means it’s not suited for modern gaming and likely an older, less powerful processor. Six cores without Hyper-Threading simply means six single-core processors. CPUs from the 8th to 13th generation are considered similar, while newer models like 12th and 13th are quite close. A bottleneck occurs when the CPU can’t supply enough frames for the GPU to process, preventing proper rendering.
