Hi, I'm experiencing issues with YouTube playback. The speed fluctuates, sometimes it slows down, other times it speeds up, and at times the video doesn't load properly before buffering. This problem started recently, and despite having a stable internet connection of 80mbps+ and watching in 1080p, the issue persists. I've tried running the System File Checker, used the playback troubleshooter, ensured my PC is updated, but nothing resolved it. Any suggestions?

Have you explored another browser? Does the issue apply only to YouTube, or do other platforms experiencing similar problems?

I believe the problem is on YouTube's end right now. I'll give it a bit more time. I've also experienced some video loading difficulties, possibly due to UI changes or ad frequency. It seems like an ongoing issue. If it doesn't improve within a week, please reach out to YouTube.

I'm facing the same problem too. It's possible my issue differs from yours. My ISP and its DNS server aren't working well. Plus, it might be a broader problem due to the rise in internet usage since the pandemic began, which has caused consistent challenges in many areas.

Configure your DNS to Google or Cloudflare via network settings or router (if available). Use 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1. Disable hardware acceleration in Chrome, as it causes issues with AMD GPUs.

I employ a Pi-Hole configured with Google as the default. I've disabled Hardware Acceleration, thank you for the guidance.

Check if performance improves without hardware acceleration and confirm you have the newest AMD chipset drivers installed.

Does this problem also affect Firefox? I noticed the same lag with YouTube videos under 60 fps on my RX 6700 (not an XT) when using it, and it wasn’t the case with my 1070. I’m curious if this could be a fix.
