My YouTube page launched unexpectedly. This began the day before, yet I don’t remember any unusual actions that could trigger it. I’m using Chrome and am logged into both Chrome and YouTube accounts. There are some extensions installed, but none seem to cause the issue. Startup apps aren’t enabled either. The things I recall are: 1) Uploading a large 7GB video from my laptop to OneDrive and then downloading it, which disrupted Discord calls for three hours. 2) Attempting to install Vencord (the Discord add-on), but it failed and was reinstalled. On my older PC, I’ve faced file problems and license issues that prevent deleting unnecessary game files, though this never affected my browser. It tends to open YouTube automatically when I open the browser or a new tab, and it becomes more frequent while watching YouTube. I only had one new tab open during this writing and that was when I clicked “New Post.”

Consider reviewing your scheduled tasks for YouTube activity, and if needed, reset Chrome via the link provided. Next, open Task Manager to identify any YouTube or Chrome-related processes under Startup Apps and disable them. At the end of these steps, only if necessary, you might want to use Autoruns from SysInternals, though it carries risks—make sure to back up or restore your system beforehand. Similarly, search for "YouTube" or Chrome entries in local scheduled tasks, as they may appear even on other users' machines.
