My idea is that you might have used a Google account linked to your school, possibly with restrictions. It could be the school limited the account or your parents enabled parental controls. You can still view YouTube without an account.
I've attempted to use YouTube, but the support there is lacking. Any link you attempt to click only leads to cluttered community discussions.
