I've used several adblock tools for a while now and never noticed a YouTube ad before. Nowadays, almost every video I watch has ads. I'm tired of this and installed another extension that still doesn't work. Why can YouTube bypass all those filters?

Similar to Ad-Block Plus, Google compensates developers or offers incentives to allow certain ads to bypass blocking.

You have the option to ignore this ad after 5 seconds. It supports individuals who invest their time to earn income from videos. It's not a major issue.

I haven’t noticed a complete skip ad button all day, and I’ve likely viewed 10 to 20 videos.

Absolutely, I understand if it doesn’t directly relate to you. But if it supports Linus and other YouTubers I back, it’s fine.

It might be the two adblock extensions you're using that are conflicting. As mentioned earlier, Google reportedly pays AdBlockPlus to display certain ads. I haven't seen any with Abuse Prevention Blocker, though I've heard positive reviews for it. You could give it a try.

It relates to the updated Chrome 45 version for AdBlock compatibility. It seems they're actively developing this feature. Watching a few updates can help, and supporting your favorite channels is important. I often disable AdBlock while viewing YouTube to assist creators.

The extensions would clash with each other.

Occasionally things just don't fit, maybe it's a completely different issue. I'm using adblock plus with Privacy Badger, which focuses more on trackers than ads, and I'm planning to remove it since it appears to interfere with ABP.

The claim suggests that removing the YouTube app from Chrome resolves certain ads linked to ADP or similar services. It mentions that Chrome version 45 introduced a change related to this issue.
