Each system offers its own benefits and drawbacks. The choice depends on your needs. I don’t plan to play Far Cry 4, GTA V, or similar games on Linux anytime soon. Plus, I’m not motivated enough to install them or even use the interface. You mentioned Linux is recommended for gaming, but it seems obvious that the hardware supports a gaming GPU.
