Hello! Here are your current specs: Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, Intel Core i3 3.20GHz, 49°C, Ivy Bridge, 22nm, 2GB RAM, DDR3 1600MHz, ASUSTeK H61M-K motherboard. You mentioned a budget of $250 and want to upgrade only the processor, not the board. I’ll suggest options for a new CPU that fits your budget and needs. Also, you asked about a graphics card since you’re looking to improve performance.

Used an i7 processor, upgraded to 8 or 16GB RAM, and installed a budget SSD.

Upgrading the motherboard isn't possible because it's quite restrictive for most changes.

Nothing much improved. That board is too fragile. Perhaps an i5 2400 would work better.

What are you asking? With this budget you can install DDR4, a 3200GHz processor and a B450 Pro4 will perform much better since you're restricted to a 3770MHz and a new motherboard. The best upgrade is definitely not having a GPU. Edited June 15, 2020 by TofuHaroto

Avoid getting tied down by anything that limits your progress. Follow what TofuHaroto suggested—it makes far more sense than spending a lot on an i7-3770k, etc.
