I built a budget PC with an i3-540 processor on a DQ57TM motherboard, equipped with 8GB RAM. Everything seems to be connected and functioning properly. When attempting to boot from USB to install Windows 10 on the hard drive, the Windows logo appears but then a blue screen crashes after roughly a minute. Could you provide more details about the symptoms or any error messages?

It seems your system isn’t compatible with Windows 10. Upgrading to Windows 7 caused the same issue during startup.

I'll attempt to install Windows 7 tomorrow. If it fails, I'll notify you.

No, I haven't configured the BIOS for either UEFI or legacy boot.

I used UEFI setup but found no support for legacy boot. No error messages appeared, yet the system would terminate after displaying the Windows 10 logo for an extended period.

Attempted setup on Windows 7 resulted in a blue error message with code: STOP:0x0000001E

You're facing a common issue with older systems. Since your motherboard only supports Windows 7, you'll need to stick with that version. The error codes during ISO installation often point to compatibility problems. Checking for BIOS updates might help, but it's best to confirm with the manufacturer or a tech support person for the most accurate guidance.

Motherboard model is DQ57TM. Possible issues could be with the board itself or the installation process for Windows 7.
