Hey there! Let's break this down. You're aiming to build a hackintosh focused on video editing, VFX, and photo editing—no 3D games. You want FCPX as your primary tool but also plan to use Premiere Pro and After Effects. I’ll keep things simple and clear.

For your budget of around $600–$650, you’re looking at a solid setup. AMD GPUs are generally better for Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro, while NVIDIA cards shine with Adobe Premiere Pro thanks to CUDA support. That’s a good choice if you want top performance.

Regarding your hardware:
- **Clover/Multibeast ECT** is a popular option for beginners. It’s user-friendly and supports AMD GPUs well.
- If you go with an NVIDIA card, you’ll need to tweak it using tools like XDA Developers or the official AMD software to enable CUDA acceleration in FCPX.

Here’s a quick part list suggestion:
1. **CPU**: Intel i5 or AMD Ryzen 5 (budget-friendly)
2. **GPU**: AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT or similar (good balance)
3. **RAM**: 16GB minimum, 32GB recommended for smooth editing
4. **Storage**: SSD for fast access to projects and assets
5. **Operating System**: macOS Catalina or later (or Windows 10/11 with virtualization)
6. **Software**: FCPX, Premiere Pro, After Effects—all should work well

If you need help tweaking your GPU or setting up CUDA in FCPX, just let me know—I’ve got some tips! Good luck with the build!

According to what I understand, using an NVidia card is necessary for compatibility with OSX. Also, it seems the 10 series NVidia cards aren't currently supported.

OP, you should review our Community Standards . Discussing piracy and hacking on a general level is fine but providing instructions as to how exactly to go about it, is not. Us on this forum consider the act of installing the Apple OS on non-Apple hardware to be piracy because it goes against Apple's license agreement. So stick to talking about the HW here and find other sources for more info about the software and you'll be just fine! Also, welcome to the forum and have fun!

Hello coming from a current hackintosh user. I would say that NVIDA cards are a requirement and no there is no support for the 10 series right now.

Can’t purchase an Apple license for a hackintosh? I’ve searched for a free OSX version that functions there, but it’s nearly impossible. Do hackintosh systems really require a tailored Apple OS?

As noted earlier, hackintosh conversations aren't permitted on the forum. Also, this goes against Apple's terms of service by installing MacOS on non-Apple devices.
