Hi, your PC crashes unexpectedly while playing GTA 5. You have an MSI Radeon R9 270X running Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. The problem began today and has been occurring during gameplay, even after lowering your video settings. It seems your GPU might be struggling. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Confirm if it's your entire system and check for crashes.

If you haven’t installed MSi Afterburner yet, download it to track your GPU and CPU temperatures and load levels. This helps identify potential overheating or power delivery issues. Early in my gaming experience, I used an R7 260X with a 2GB RAM and FX6300 CPU without any problems. If your temperatures stay below 90°C, it’s likely safe regarding heat. Ensure your power supply can deliver sufficient power to the 12V rail for your system. Refer to the owner’s manual or a sticker on the PSU for details. Research your components to understand their power requirements, especially the GPU, which tends to draw more power.

It can occur while playing other games or doing different activities. It isn't exclusive to GTA 5 and may also happen when switching characters. The white screen usually results from GPU overclocking or immediate use after an update. These issues are fairly common. See the suggested link for more details. The typical fix is reinstalling the game.

My GPU temperatures are about 63°C during GTA gameplay, and with a 750W Corsair PSU there’s sufficient power supply for the system.
