If you buy a genuine Windows 10 license, you’ll still need to format your hard drive. You can’t just install the full copy from an evaluation version.

In earlier versions of Windows, you had to perform a clean install. Upgrading wasn’t an option. Even minor changes would transfer issues from the preview to the final release. For a bug-free experience, a clean installation is strongly advised. Avoid running debug code and prevent problems from appearing in the official version.
