You should retain the i5 if you already have it. Otherwise, consider exchanging the motherboard for a B450 and pairing it with a Ryzen 5 CPU.

I'm using a 9400f on a z390 board and it handles gaming, WoT, Frostpunk, Total War at 144hz with a 1660 MHz clock. The 390 board supports RAM speeds above 2666MHz, which boosts frame rates.

I highly recommend returning the board. You receive significantly better value with a Ryzen 5 3600 and a B450 board. It's not only more affordable, but it also performs much faster.
