You're in trouble. SteelSeriesGear keeps stopping unexpectedly.
I have some big problems with my Steelseries equipment. (My second language, by the way) It began a few months ago. I was using Windows 11 about a year ago. My machine is an ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z690 HERO with an Intel Core i9 12900K at 3.2 GHz, 30MB RAM, and the ASUS ROG Thor 1200W RTX 3070 Ti. (I know it's old, but I couldn't get a new graphics card.) It has Corsair 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5 5600MHz CL36. Anyway. My Steelseries gear stopped working suddenly. The AeroX 3 APEX 7 ARTICS 7+ is affected; the lights flash and I can't move the mouse. I have to unplug it, sometimes I need to restart the PC and plug it in a different USB port. At first, it happened when I was stressing the PC while playing games. But then it started without gaming. I thought it was related to the SteelseriesGG app. So I reinstalled everything. The problem keeps coming up—try rolling back. It still doesn't work.
I reached out to the Steelseries support team. I've sent them logs, DXDIAGS, and more. I even reinstalled the whole system from Windows 11 down to Windows 10. It worked again. Then I bought a new keyboard—the Apex Pro—and updated the BIOS. I’ve been using Armory Crate and upgraded the chipset, but it still doesn’t fix it.
I’m worried the computer is in bad shape. I might have to use an old Logitech wireless mouse and keyboard because the keyboard, mouse, and even the headset sometimes shut down. If anyone else has similar issues, please let me know. How often does this happen—4 to 8 times a day, or once a week? Thanks.
