Hey there, sorry about that. I just set up Pop OS on my gaming laptop and wanted to see how smooth it was to switch to Linux. Honestly, it was a bit confusing. I installed Steam, downloaded Fable Anniversary, and realized I still needed to adjust the download folder. Pop OS said the drive wouldn’t show up in Steam, but it was actually mounted. I had already mounted it before installing Steam. Maybe I made a mistake. If you need help, let me know where to look! Thanks.

Mounting external drives on Linux involves connecting the drive to a folder, which the GNOME environment’s Nautilus file manager handles automatically. Did you use Nautilus or the command line to mount the drives?

It seems you might not have connected the external drive yet. I just opened the file manager and double-clicked on the drive to attach it.

If you have access to the files on the drive, it means you mounted it successfully. The key distinction between Windows and Linux for mounting drives lies in how they handle the filesystem—Linux mounts drives directly within the main filesystem rather than treating them as separate file systems like Windows does. Since I haven’t used Nautilus recently, I’m assuming you might want to review the contents of directories such as /media/, /run/media/, or /mnt, where external drives are typically listed in file managers.

Yes, it's an internal SATA drive and could impact performance or functionality.
