Hey there, I’m experiencing an issue with my Eluktronics Mech-15 gaming laptop during a game—specifically Project Zomboid. The screen froze, and I tried closing the game via Task Manager, but then a BSOD popped up. The Event Viewer showed an error about "Graphics," and I got an attachment with the details. After restarting, the game ran at low frames (around 10 FPS) and it seemed to be using integrated graphics. When I checked the Device Manager, the graphics card wasn’t listed, and even the Nvidia Experience app couldn’t detect drivers. I tried a troubleshooting guide from a Reddit thread, focusing on Step 7 where I selected my video card template and searching for the Hardware ID. I found it in the dropdown and thought it might be the right option. However, the installation didn’t work, so I restored my laptop to a recent System Restore point (Windows 10). Still, the graphics card isn’t showing up. I’m really stuck and would love any help. I plan to contact Eluktronics’ support tomorrow if they have better solutions. I’d rather not send it in for repair since it took them weeks to get it back after a similar graphics issue. Thanks for your time!

I’d start with the official NVidia driver and run an advanced search, comparing DCH and non-DCH options. Adjust optimus settings in BIOS, ideally enabling direct GPU access during installation or connect a monitor via video output. If that fails, install OEM drivers and upgrade yourself. If issues persist, it might be an anomaly. For standard laptops, NVCleanInstall isn’t necessary, and driver installation restrictions can be frustrating. Also, ensure Windows Device Installation is set to automatic; verify your graphics settings in Device Manager and NVIDIA Control Panel for your games—set them to use the direct GPU.

I was using my laptop for some light YouTube watching when it shut down unexpectedly. Almost immediately, I noticed a 'vizz' sound and saw smoke coming from the back vents. I believe I should report this issue to the manufacturer.
