You're confused because you want to delete a file on your DVD, but everyone keeps telling you to erase it first. It's confusing since they seem to think you need to wipe the data before creating a new copy.

I didn't succeed because the DVD I tried to use ended up with a file after formatting... I don't want to try again now since I already had three DVDs, one broken, and I'm planning to make two copies.

Do you have a disk image burning issue? Consider trying alternative tools. I’ve used this multiple times successfully.

Yes, you can use it with .clu. It doesn't need to be an ISO file.
