It might still be manageable even with DRM in place. The worst outcome would be if EA or Ubisoft acquired the game, making it full of microtransactions and exclusive for the Wii U.

The game is perfect for playing with buddies. I could probably get it a third time if the DRM they’re using doesn’t restrict modding.
