I've been working on this for about four days now. I'm close enough to help, just need a bit of guidance. I have the ASUS Prime B550 Plus motherboard and Corsair Airflow 4000d. The issue is finding the USB 3.1 Type-C connection on the board.

It doesn't include it. But you can use adapters like USB3.1 to USB-C or USB2 to USB-C headers.

1) bring back the motherboard and purchase a model with the proper header, 2) acquire a converter such as the one @Levent recommended, or 3) keep the port unplugged.
