Android lollipop aims to let you save files to the SD card. I’m still having trouble doing that! I need to copy my media files onto a removable SD card to free up space on my internal storage. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What device are you using? Which Lollipop release is installed? Which application are you employing to transfer files onto the SD card?

Phone is a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S5 version, I think it's firmware 5.0.1. The file explorer is ES. Apologies for the delay in responding.

Which application are you operating with? From KitKat onward, any third-party software can only save files to its designated directory on the SD card. With root access, this issue can be resolved.

app is an ES file explorer running on Lollipop 5.0.1. I'm attempting to transfer photos, videos, and music from internal storage to external storage, but it doesn't work as expected.

Android includes a native feature for this. To access it, navigate to settings > storage > transfer data to sd card. Once activated, you can conveniently move photos, videos, and music to your external SD card.

I work with a Galaxy S5 and use ES File Explorer. I copy or cut files and then paste them into a folder on my SD card.

It's not Lollipop, but I'm able to contact my card without any issues.
