The apartment above us got damaged badly after an incident, which seems to be the cause. My father-in-law, who plays COD with me, doesn’t face this issue. I can play games for around an hour without needing a connection. But sometimes it’s only a few seconds before I lose. I’ve watched many tutorials on setting up Windows and clearing network settings, even using safe mode. Still nothing works. I tried changing my DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but the problem persists. After a full day of play, I managed about ten minutes online, mostly with DayZ and other games, though there was occasional lag. Today I’ve finally been able to play for around ten minutes. I’m using a wired connection between my PC and the modem, thinking the router might be the problem—it wasn’t. EDIT: Discord works perfectly, but Battle.net and Steam sometimes disconnect unexpectedly, which seems to be the issue for me and my wife.

Do you know the path the wiring follows from the street to your place? It's likely only a few types of cables survived the fire.

Sounds like the building layout matters here. Since it's a townhome style, the wiring is likely consistent across units. The issue might be related to the fire itself rather than the cabling setup.

They really need to understand where to check and make the necessary repairs if something is damaged.

The building enforces a rule that no one may enter because police tape surrounds it, and the complex insists on being fixed before allowing access.
