Good morning! I’m working with an Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55-55M1 on my desk today, dealing with a screen problem. I tried connecting another Acer screen that matched the pin layout, but now the device won’t power up at all. I wasn’t sure if swapping screens would cause serious harm, but I might have made a mistake. Don’t worry, I’m still learning—feel free to tease me if you think so!

The display featured horizontal lines at the top, causing smooth cursor movement above them but sluggish performance below. I suspected a loose cable, faulty screen, or defective component. Since cables seemed intact, I swapped out the screen with a verified working Acer laptop model.

I’m probably not going to fix it. The screens I’m using come from older models, and even after reconnecting the original one, they won’t work. I’m really worried I might have damaged a component, and fixing it would be too complicated for me right now.

I mean there is a chance of shorting something if you didn't disconnect the battery before anything else, id still go back and check all the connections you touched and any connections close to what you touched see if anything got bumped out, don't call it dead until your sure
