Hi there. I assembled my computer a few years back and it was functioning well until roughly a week ago. Here are the details: Ryzen 5 2600 T-Force, 2x8GB RAM, 2600 Auorus B450 Pro WiFi, EVGA 850 GQ, RTX 2060 WD Blue, 500GB NVMe 1TB drive. I often have to turn it on early in the morning because it wakes up from sleep mode for updates or similar tasks. About a week ago I did the same but ended up with a black screen. I tried restarting, but it wouldn’t boot. I disassembled and reassembled the whole thing without success. Then I reset the BIOS using the CMOS battery, which allowed it to boot into Windows, but random restarts started afterward. No warnings appeared—just the screen going black and rebooting. Occasionally I see BSODs with a CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED message, especially when running demanding applications. At first I thought it was a graphics driver problem, but updating drivers didn’t help. After a BIOS update, it still restarts unexpectedly. I tested my RAM on another machine and found no issues there. I also reinstalled a fresh Windows installation, but the problem persists. The motherboard has LED indicators that light up during booting and testing—CPU, RAM, VGA, and BOOT. Sometimes it gets stuck on the CPU or RAM and switches between them. I checked the event manager and found no bugCheckCode, which usually points to a hardware issue. I’m hoping someone can help me figure this out. SSDs are another potential culprit; after stability checks, try a different drive (HDD or SSD) with a fresh Windows install. Storage degradation can happen, so verify the SSD isn’t the problem before proceeding. If cleaning doesn’t resolve the issue, consider replacing the board and look for a similar B3/450 model for about $50.
