After setting up Pop OS, most drivers worked without problems, but my auxiliary jack isn’t performing as well as my display. It functions but only supports 720p or 1080p, showing black bars at the edges. I’m unsure how to locate a driver menu or device list to resolve this issue. The problem seems related to the display driver, though I’m not sure if it requires opening a new thread. My Onyx Boox Lumi works in Windows with the correct aspect ratio (2200 x 1650), but Pop OS only offers 720p or 1080p options, leaving visible black bars on the screen.

Details? Your sound card and graphics card play a big role here. To start with, you can adjust the display settings using xrandr (since you're running Cosmic via X11, not Wayland). xrandr -s 2200x1650 For locating audio devices, execute this command: lspci | grep Audio. If it doesn't show anything, try just running lspci

The display command didn't work and below is a picture of the error it gave (for the display command) as well as the specs it gave when I ran "lspci | grep Audio" Just to let you know my Computer is an Alienware 15 R2 with a i7 6700HQ, 16GB Ram, and a Nvidia 980m (I didn't now if those mattered) (Also, you didn't mention how to see what drivers are installed and where to go to install them)

To configure a custom mode, follow the instructions provided. You can find more details at https://askubuntu.com/questions/377937/h...resolution. Before proceeding, run the command xrandr -q to determine your monitor's port and update "VGA-0" accordingly.

I attempted the instructions from the provided link for both fixes, except for the part about "xrandr -q". Both attempts resulted in errors.

The resolution was miswritten. You entered "2200x1650_00" instead of "2200x1650_60.00". It's unclear why the first version didn't work.

I corrected the input, but the same error persisted. The previous image displayed the identical error code.

They mentioned a method on the Arch Linux forums using nvidia-settings. It might help if it solves your issue.

the first one needed to run. If he reruns xrandr he should see an unassigned 2200x1650_60.00 entry now. He misspoke the 60.00 but didn’t include quotes. try: xrandr --addmode HDMI-0 "2200x1650_60.00" you should notice a screen update. you won’t be in 2200x1650 but if it worked the screen will refresh. right clicking desktop and going to display settings should show it in the dropdown. if not there run xrandr again and post.

When you enter xrandr it doesn’t display the resolution, but using xrandr -q reveals details at the bottom. You might want to check the NVIDIA settings. How can I help? @pop-os:~$ xrandr -q Screen 0: minimum 8 x 8, current 3072 x 1728, maximum 16384 x 16384 HDMI-0 connected 3072x1728+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1920mm x 1080mm 1920x1080 38.60*+ 1280x720 100.00 eDP-1-1 connected primary 3072x1728+0+0 (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 344mm x 194mm 1920x1080 60.02*+ 60.01 59.97 59.96 59.93 48.03 1680x1050 59.95 59.88 1600x1024 60.17 1400x1050 59.98 1600x900 59.99 59.94 59.95 59.82 1280x1024 60.02 1440x900 59.89 1400x900 59.96 59.88 1280x960 60.00 1440x810 60.00 59.97 1368x768 59.88 59.85 1360x768 59.80 59.96 1280x800 59.99 59.97 59.81 59.91 1152x864 60.00 1280x720 60.00 59.99 59.86 59.74 1024x768 60.04 60.00 960x720 60.00 928x696 60.05 896x672 60.01 1024x576 59.95 59.96 59.90 59.82 960x600 59.93 60.00 960x540 59.96 59.99 59.63 59.82 800x600 60.00 60.32 56.25 840x525 60.00 59.99 59.86 59.80 59.96 1280x1024 60.02 1440x900 59.89 1400x900 59.96 59.88 1280x960 60.00 640x512 60.02 720x450 59.89 70 60.04 60.00 960x480 60.00 59.94 720x405 59.51 58.99 684x384 59.88 59.85 680x384 59.80 59.96 640x400 59.98 59.95 59.82 640x512 60.02 720x360 59.89 70 59.96 59.88 640x480 60.00 59.94 720x405 59.51 58.99 684x384 59.88 59.85 680x384 59.80 59.96 640x400 59.98 576x432 60.06 640x360 59.86 59.83 59.84 59.32 512x384 60.00 512x288 60.00 59.92 480x270 59.63 59.82 800x600 60.00 60.32 56.25 840x525 60.01 59.88 864x486 59.92 59.57 800x512 60.17 700x525 59.98 800x450 59.95 59.82 640x512 60.02 720x450 59.89 70 59.96 60.00 60.32 56.34 432x243 59.92 59.57 320x240 60.05 360x202 59.51 59.13 320x180 59.84 59.32 DP-1-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) HDMI-1-1 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) DP-1-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) HDMI-1-2 disconnected (normal left inverted right x axis y axis) 1400x1050_60.00 (0x283) 121.750MHz -HSync +VSync h: width 1400 start 1488 end 1632 total 1864 skew 0 clock 65.32KHz v: height 1050 start 1053 end 1057 total 1089 clock 59.98Hz 2200x1650_60.00 (0x29a) 309.250MHz -HSync +VSync h: width 2200 start 2368 end 2608 total 3016 skew 0 clock 102.54KHz v: height 1650 start 1653 end 1657 total 1710 clock 59.96Hz
