You recently got The Crew as part of the Ubisoft 30th anniversary launch. When you attempt to start the game, it crashes and displays a message saying "The Crew Game has stopped working." You've updated your graphics drivers to the newest versions, but reinstalling the game hasn't resolved the issue. Consider checking other troubleshooting steps or reaching out to Ubisoft support for further assistance.
I faced the same issue with my GTX 950. It seemed the drivers I had were outdated for The Crew, which made the game stop functioning. The problem was resolved by using an older driver that functioned properly.
Have you reached out to Ubisoft support before? It's just a question...
Well, I spent some time, but it didn’t seem like they really understood the issue. The support person likely just gave a standard checklist: restart cleanly, update Nvidia drivers, refresh DirectX, and maybe reinstall Visual C++. The last step didn’t make sense because the directX update link pointed to a 2010 download—odd since I use the latest DirectX 12. I thought reinstalling C++ might only add more complications. Also, Windows 10 is fine for me. If anyone has better suggestions, feel free. But for now, I’ll wait until Nvidia releases a driver that actually works. P.S. I don’t want to install an outdated driver, even if it functions.
It doesn't function correctly because the required version must be installed alongside the games. I currently have around 20 different Visual C++ redist packs and a similar setup with DX. If the crew also lacks a compatible "DirectX June 2010 Redistributable," it won't work. Microsoft didn’t do a good job here.
