The situation involves trying different components for a PC build. Initially, a friend provided a used RYZEN 5 2600 CPU with a B350M motherboard, but it didn’t work properly. I replaced the RAM and tested the system, finding that only one RAM stick was detected. After resetting BIOS, everything seemed normal until the CPU started looping. The question is whether the issue lies in the motherboard, RAM, or CPU.
If you've never updated BIOS on that board, I'd start with that. While the BIOS has been out for 4 years that supports the 2600, if you got it before January/Feb of 2018 there's a chance it's just a BIOS update. https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B350M-PR...pport#bios
It functioned properly, though I noticed on Windows that only 7.95 GB of RAM is available despite having 16 GB installed.
