You're experiencing high packet loss and internet instability. Let's troubleshoot this together.
I assembled my machine nine months ago and immediately started playing console games. Prior to building it, I experienced no problems with ping or excessive packet loss, always managed around 500 up/down connections, and I used a wired connection—my computer didn’t even have a Wi-Fi card. Since then, random high packet loss has become common, causing my network to crash entirely. The router fails to broadcast a signal for about two minutes before it restarts. I’ve tried restarting the router and changing settings, but nothing works. Personally, I’m convinced the issue lies with my computer, not the network itself, aside from time passing and adding my device to the network. What other possibilities exist? How can I better identify the cause and fix this problem? This situation is worsening, sometimes happening every few minutes now, forcing me to pause whatever I’m doing just to watch something on my phone. I’m ready to share more details if it helps resolve this.
Start by turning off what you think is the source of the problem (the device). Does the problem disappear or continue? Understanding your setup would be useful—do you use an ISP modem/router? Do you own a separate router? Are there any switches or access points? Besides the new computer, are there other connected devices?
