My computer is an Asus ROG STRIX G10CES Desktop PC.
I've been facing this problem for several months, and it's becoming increasingly annoying. I'm encountering blue screens even while just browsing the internet. I've tried all sorts of solutions—running a memory test, using sfc scannow, updating BIOS, installing new NVIDIA drivers—but nothing resolved the issue. The error code that keeps appearing is UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION, and sometimes I also see WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.
The system will crash with a BSOD for a brief moment, then restart automatically. If I turn off automatic restarts, it stays stuck in the BSOD and doesn't progress past 0%. There are no dump files generated, and the message says "Dump file creation failed due to error during dump creation," which makes troubleshooting even more difficult. The 0x154 (UNEXPECTED_STORE_EXCEPTION) BSOD often stems from faulty RAM, but it may also result from a failing system drive. Initially, running Memtest86 is recommended. Download the tool and create a bootable USB using the imageUSB.exe file. Use this on another computer if possible, since you can't fully rely on your current system at this stage. Once the USB boots, Memtest86 will begin testing immediately. If no issues appear after completing the 13 tests in the free version, restart the program and repeat the process four more times. Even a single error indicates a failure. Failing to produce dumps is critical because they are essential for diagnosing BSODs. To generate dumps properly, several conditions must be met:
- The page file should reside on the same drive as your operating system
- Page file must be configured as "system managed"
- System crash/recovery options need to be set to "Automatic memory dump"
- Windows Error Reporting (WER) service must be in MANUAL mode
- User account control must be active
Additionally, certain factors can block the creation of dumps:
- Older firmware on SSDs prevents dumps from being generated; update the drive firmware if necessary
- Cleaner applications such as Ccleaner may delete dump files—avoid running them until resolved
- Defective RAM might stop data from being saved and written during a reboot, so test your RAM if needed
It's clear that both faulty RAM and a compromised system drive can halt dumps and trigger the 0x154 error.

My SSD model is INTEL SSDPEKNU010TZ, and MyASUS suggests updating to V18.36.1.1016, yet it remains at V10.0.22621.3235.
