Hey there, first time user, you're in the right place. Let's try to figure this out together. The error message suggests a security issue with your system, possibly related to Windows Explorer or a stack buffer problem. You mentioned trying safe mode and restarting, which is a good start. You might want to check if the Explorer.exe error appears in another environment, like an old system or a virtual machine. Also, ensure your PIN setup is working correctly—sometimes the prompt can be tricky. If you're comfortable, opening the Windows Store and following the setup steps again could help. Let me know what you find!

Turn off internet connection temporarily. Do you have a USB drive to install Windows repair? Or try Linux to check for software problems. If it works on USB, hardware seems okay. However, if the disk containing Windows isn’t working, it might be a faulty disk or infected with malware.

Yes, I've observed such behavior from severe corruption issues, though malware remains a genuine threat.

Skip the web, just use a USB drive with a Windows installer. Add an offline version of MalwareBlast on it. Boot into safe mode, run the installer, and once done, let it check everything again if anything is found.

Hi everyone, sorry for the delay—I didn’t have time to resolve the problem. I used a spare SSD and everything worked perfectly; I accessed all my files and made a backup just in case. Nothing got corrupted. So far, I’ve managed to re-enable Windows Hello and remember my password. I tried moving the SSD to another machine for an upgrade, but Windows seemed upset with it. Right now I’m checking if I can roll back or try a fresh install. The issue I’m facing is that the credentials monitor (VaultSVC) wasn’t found in the registry, which might be related. Thanks for your advice and support!

Absolutely, the files checked out to be secure. Appreciate the confirmation from Malwarebytes and Norton—free copies from my job are always reliable!
