Checking your setup on the Intel DX79SR board. You have 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance modules, but only using 3 slots. Slot 4 is prone to failure. You're considering moving to (5,2 & 8,7) slots. It would have been better to test it earlier. It clearly demonstrated what was achievable without being a major issue.
