Hello everyone, I’m dealing with a confusing issue. My gaming PC tends to crash during gameplay and when exiting games, showing BSoDs. Recent error codes include “MEMORY MANAGEMENT” and “irql_not_less_or_equal,” along with ntoskrnl.exe failing. These incidents happen only when the system is under stress from playing games. I also observed that CPU temperatures spike significantly during load—reaching mid-90s with the stock cooler—so it’s possible heat might be a factor. The strange part is: after a failed restart, the error screen appears and the PC refuses to reboot, shutting down after 15 seconds to protect the mainboard. It keeps showing up even after several attempts, but after a few minutes of being off, I can turn it back on.
My hardware specs are: CPU – AMD Ryzen 7 3700X (no overclocking), GPU – EVGA RTX 2070 XC (no overclocking, latest drivers), RAM – 16 GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR4 @ 3000 MHz (no OC or XMP profiles), Motherboard – MSI MPG X570 GAMING EDGE WIFI (possible suspect due to purchase history and a bent pin on the USB header), PSU – Corsair RM1000x 80+ Gold (bought late 2018), and I’m considering an upgrade.
Additional oddities: The PC often restarts unexpectedly without warning, but these restarts usually happen infrequently. Thank you for your feedback. No damaged pins or distorted ports were found. During initial installation, I had to manually bend a pin on the USB 3.0 header to connect it from the front panel. Regarding system instability, possible causes include loose connections, incorrect BIOS settings, or hardware incompatibility.

Maybe, though if I were, I'd try harder to eliminate it. Uncertain if you noticed that project with Linus and xQc—he was attempting to address a very comparable problem. It began with instability and then rapidly shifted into USB Overcurrent protection. After Linus checked every USB port on the board and found no signs of damage, he swapped out the motherboard. When he examined it more closely, the USB-C header on the motherboard was twisted and damaged—something only visible once everything was unplugged.
